On Friday Room 6 made mothers’ day cards for our mums. First we chose a coloured piece of card and then we fold it in half. The colours were green, blue and pink. Next we chose cupcake cups in different sizes. The biggest size on the bottom, then the middle sized cup, and finally the smallest cup. We glued them all together and finished with a button.
Then we got a piece of green card and we cut out the stalk for the flower. Then Mrs Hodgson printed a word heart for the class which said ‘I love you mum’ and ‘You are the best’.
We cut a picture frame in the shape of a heart and put a picture of ourselves in the heart. Then we glued everything together and then we wrote 2016 at the back.

Today at Parawai School three Room 6 kids, Conrad, Andrew and Starlight helped Mr Poeschl and some other kids from Room 14 and 15 do some gardening while the  others played dodgeball. They had to pull out the weeds and and replace some of the bark.
Conrad said “that it was lots of fun”.
Starlight also had lots of fun, “I learnt not to pull the weeds from the top because it will break and keep growing back” she said.
Andrew also enjoyed pulling out the weeds, “I liked using the trowel the best” he said.

I think they did an excellent job with the garden as it is looking very good.

Below is a story I wrote called - The Horrible No-Good Fishing Trip

Yesterday Pārāwai School took part in a rippa tournament held at Rhodes park in Thames. A number of schools took part in this tournament year 5-6, 7, and 7-8.
The first team we played was St Francis. We won 9 - 4. Then we played Matatoki we won 10 - 4. Just before lunch we played Te Puru we got smashed! The score was 11 - 2 to them. Next we played Te Puru again, we lost from 5 - 7. Our final game was against St Francis Yellow. We won 9 - 4, and that was our last game for the Rippa tournament. We did not qualify for the semi finals in Paeroa.

Our team (Year 5 & 6) came 3rd place over all. One of our year 7 & 8 team came 1st and the other year 7 & 8 team came 2nd.

The two finals games that we watch were awesome. The End

By Sharna, Corey and Torin ;) ;) ;) ;)

  3. Great update about room 6 Sharna!
We have tonnes of tomato plants in our vege garden if you or anyone else decides to grow any. They would need to be grown in a greenhouse or something similar though as it's too cold outside in winter for them.
How did dodge ball go for the rest of the class?
    Have a great day
